Kevin Korchinski Named AHL All-Star MVP

February 4, 2025 - Coachella Valley, CA - IceHogs forward Cole Guttman and defenseman Kevin Korchinski represented Rockford this week at the AHL All-Star Classic in Coachella Valley. The two were key pieces of the Central Division and went on to win the round robin tournament with a 3-1 record. Guttman scored a goal, while Korchinski recorded one goal and three assists along with a shootout goal in the championship game. Central Division Wins 2025 AHL All-Star Challenge in Dramatic Fashion

February 4, 2025 - The Central Division pulled out a 2-1 shootout win over the Atlantic Division in the championship game to take the title at the 2025 AHL All-Star Challenge presented by Spotlight 29 Casino on Monday night at Acrisure Arena, home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Rockford IceHogs defenseman Kevin Korchinski won most valuable player honors after recording four points in the round-robin portion of the evening before scoring the decisive shootout goal in the championship game. Tampa Bay Lightning Assign Forward Conor Geekie to Syracuse Crunch

February 4, 2025 - SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned forward Conor Geekie to the Syracuse Crunch, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. Geekie, 20, has played in 49 games for the Bolts this season, recording six goals and 12 points with two game-winning tallies and 86 hits. The Strathclair, Manitoba, native made his NHL debut October 11 at Carolina and logged his first career point, an assist, October 22 at New Jersey before scoring his first career goal four days later, October 26 versus ... Checkers Shine at 2025 AHL All-Star Classic

February 4, 2025 - The Checkers were represented well at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic in Coachella Valley. Four members of the organization headed out to the West Coast for the two-day event - John Leonard and Trevor Carrick on the ice, Geordie Kinnear behind the bench and the injured Zac Dalpe as the Eastern Conference's playing captain. Carrick stole the show at Sunday's Skills Competition, hammering a 100.9 mph blast to win the Hardest Shot event.
